Cory Fester clip and health report

2009.04.03
We have something to share with the flatlanders that might be interested in what's up with Cory Fester lately. He sent us some raw footage from last summer and things are not quite OK with him but it all gets better step by step. He did pretty well at the Toronto contest and his health is improving now.

Cory's email (from the middle of February 2009):

"I have been having a really tough time the last year with my health. I really havent told anyone about it for many reasons and is the biggest reason why I havent gone to any contests or anything. I have been experiencing many breathing difficulties as well as stomach problems ect. I have been doing so many tests and all that stuff and different medications and its an ongoing process. I havent ridden since October, actually I havent even put my bike together. I am really working hard on a lot of lifestyle changes, excercise, diet, stress management etc. so that when I get back riding I will be able to compete.
I am still planning on coming to contests this year. It will just hinge on my health right now. When I was filming my new video section last summer I was literally vomiting a couple times a session and having panic attacks. I had to go to the hosptal twice during filming. I really cant be in Europe or Japan if that is still happening or anywhere for that matter. I am planning on going to Toronto contest in the middle of March and then Missouri comp beggining of April which will be a good indicator for me and if something does happen I will be ok as far as health coverage ect.
I sent the footage I have from just a couple sessions I was playing around last summer. It is shot at a higher framerate because we were testing my friends new camera. You guys can edit it if you want or whatever.
I know you guys would like to have something for the site so people know I am still on the team. You can post this e-mail or parts of it if you want to give everyone an explanation. At first I really didnt want anyone to know or be concerned but after a year or more away more and more people have been asking about it. For me it is just something I am going to have to deal with on my own without worrying other people. I am very positive that things will turn out ok and I am sure I will be back riding, hopefully soon.

Take care,
cory."
